Sanctuary Supported Living
With the help of the local community, staff and residents at a retirement service in Bideford have been hard at work raising money for a defibrillator.
Sanctuary Supported Living’s retirement community, Moreton Court, which provides apartments and communal facilities for over 55s hosted a charity bingo night to fundraise money and provide public access to the life-saving equipment.
As well as bingo, there was a raffle to boost vital funds for the defibrillator, which is set to be installed outside of Moreton Court, on Birdwood Crescent. The response to the appeal for donations was overwhelmingly generous, with prizes gifted by residents and local businesses alike, such as Powerhouse Gym, Posh Wash, World of Wonder, and Commodore Hotel – to name but a few!
As guests enjoyed the buzz and excitement of the evening, a great time was had by all and Moreton Court were overjoyed to learn that they’d raised a total of £1250.
Wellbeing and Inclusion Assistant, Brigette Buckland said: “As well as an opportunity to have fun, this event helped to raise money for a much-needed defibrillator for Moreton Court and our neighbours in the community. There are lots of new developments popping up in Bideford, and with us supporting older people to live as independently as possible – you never know when you’re likely to need one!
“The raffle was a real crowd-pleaser, and we’d like to thank all the contributors for their donations. Everyone who supported us is making such a difference and it means a lot that they recognise the work that we’re doing and want to help.”
Designed to offer comfort, independence and peace of mind, Moreton Court has everything you need to enjoy a happy, fulfilling retirement.
